These terms govern your use of the 4Drive Turkey booking platform and the subsequent rental of a vehicle from local rental companies operating in Turkey. By completing a booking, you accept these terms in full.
4Drive Turkey provides an online booking platform connecting customers with local vehicle rental companies across Turkey. We facilitate advance payment and issue booking vouchers containing all reservation details. The actual rental agreement is a separate contract between you and the local rental company, formed when you collect the vehicle at their desk, terminal, or delivery point.
These terms apply to the booking process through our website. The rental company's own terms, outlined in your voucher and the rental agreement you sign at collection, govern the actual use of the vehicle. Any dispute regarding the vehicle itself or the rental period must be addressed directly with the rental company whose contact details appear in your voucher.
When you complete a booking on 4driveturkey.com, you receive a voucher by email. This voucher contains the rental company's name, collection address, opening hours, contact telephone and email, vehicle details, included mileage, insurance coverage, excess amount, and instructions for the balance payment and deposit.
The rental agreement itself is signed when you collect the vehicle. At that point the rental company will inspect the vehicle with you and record any existing damage or scratches in the rental contract. You should verify this inspection is thorough and accurate. The rental company provides the keys, registration documents, and any optional equipment you have pre-booked such as a child seat, HGS toll transponder for motorways, or cross-border permit for Greece or Georgia.
Collection time and location are confirmed during booking. Some companies operate from airport desks, some from city offices, others deliver to your hotel or accommodation address for an additional fee listed during the booking process.
A booking advance is charged to your debit or credit card online at the time of reservation. This advance secures your booking and is non-refundable except as described in the cancellation section below. You will see the advance amount clearly displayed before you confirm the booking.
The balance is due when you collect the vehicle. Accepted methods for the balance vary by vehicle and are specified in your voucher. Some vehicles accept debit card, cash, or credit card. Others may require a credit card only. These requirements depend on the specific vehicle you have booked, not on the vehicle class or category. Read your voucher carefully and prepare the required payment method before collection.
We do not accept cash payments online. All online transactions are processed by card.
Many vehicles offered through 4Drive Turkey do not require a deposit to be blocked on your card. Where a deposit is required, the amount and the accepted card types are listed in the vehicle description during booking and repeated in your voucher. The rental company will block this amount on a valid card at collection and release it after you return the vehicle undamaged.
Deposit requirements are independent of insurance coverage. Even if you book a vehicle with comprehensive insurance and a reduced excess, a deposit may still apply depending on the vehicle. Conversely, some vehicles have no deposit requirement yet still carry an excess amount for which you remain liable in case of damage.
If you do not hold a credit card and the vehicle requires one for the deposit, you should ensure your debit card has a sufficient limit to cover the temporary block. Contact your bank in advance to raise limits if necessary.
The main driver must present a valid driving licence at collection. Foreign licences are accepted in Turkey. An International Driving Permit is recommended for rentals longer than a few weeks. The rental company may refuse to release the vehicle if your licence does not meet their requirements or if it has expired.
Additional drivers can be added for a fee. This fee is payable directly to the rental company at collection. Every driver must present their own valid licence and be listed on the rental agreement. Only persons named in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
Minimum and maximum age limits are set by the rental company and shown during booking. Some performance or larger vehicles have higher minimum ages.
You must comply with all Turkish traffic regulations. Speed limits are 50 km/h in towns, 90 km/h on rural roads, and 120 km/h on motorways. Traffic moves on the right-hand side. The HGS electronic toll system is used on O-highways and major bridges including the Bosphorus crossings and Osmangazi Bridge. If you have booked an HGS transponder, tolls are charged automatically; otherwise you must arrange payment separately.
Off-road driving is generally prohibited unless you have specifically booked a 4x4 vehicle and the rental company permits such use. Read the rental agreement terms regarding permissible road surfaces. Gravel mountain roads and national park tracks may be allowed for suitable 4x4 models such as pickup trucks with part-time four-wheel drive or SUVs with all-wheel drive.
Cross-border travel to neighbouring countries is permitted only with prior written permission from the rental company. This applies particularly to Greece and Georgia. You must arrange the cross-border permit at the time of booking or well in advance of your trip. Driving outside Turkey without this written authorisation will void your insurance and may result in the vehicle being confiscated.
You may cancel your booking by contacting us at [email protected]. Cancellation terms are detailed in your voucher. In some cases the advance payment is refundable if you cancel more than a certain number of days before collection; in other cases the advance is non-refundable. Review the specific terms for your booking.
Changes to dates, collection location, or vehicle type are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Contact us as early as possible if you need to modify your reservation.
4Drive Turkey is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of the vehicle or from the acts or omissions of the rental company. Our role is limited to processing your booking and issuing a voucher. Liability for the condition and roadworthiness of the vehicle, for accidents, breakdowns, theft, and third-party claims rests with you and the rental company as set out in the rental agreement.
Insurance coverage and excess amounts vary by vehicle. The insurance included in your booking is described during the reservation process and confirmed in your voucher. You remain responsible for the excess amount in the event of damage, regardless of fault, unless you have purchased additional excess reduction cover. This excess is separate from any deposit requirement.
We do not guarantee that the rental company will have the exact make and model shown at the time of booking. You will receive a vehicle in the same category with equivalent features. If no suitable vehicle is available at collection, you should contact the rental company immediately to arrange an alternative or a refund of the balance. If you experience any problem during your rental, contact the rental company immediately using the telephone and email provided in your voucher. They are responsible for resolving issues such as breakdowns, accidents, billing disputes, and vehicle defects.
If the rental company does not resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, email us at [email protected] with your booking reference, a description of the issue, and copies of any relevant documents or photographs. We will liaise with the rental company on your behalf, though we cannot guarantee a particular outcome as the rental agreement is between you and them.
Our office is located at Konyaalti, Antalya, Turkey. Office hours are Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, GMT+3. We aim to respond to all complaints within two working days.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Turkey. Any dispute arising from your booking or these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Turkish courts.
The rental agreement you sign with the local rental company is also governed by Turkish law. That company may include additional terms specific to their fleet and operations.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
These terms were last updated in September 2026. We reserve the right to amend them at any time. The version in effect at the time you make your booking applies to that reservation.
